Investing more than VND 2,400 billion to build Korean - Tra Vinh wind power plant

On April 24, at Con Trung Hamlet, Truong Long Hoa Commune, Duyen Hai Town, Tra Vinh Province, Tra Vinh Wind Power No.1 One Member Limited Company ("TWPC") held a ground-breaking ceremony for the Korean-Tra Vinh wind power plant project, location V1-1.

Mr. Choi Hyeong Suk, General Director of TWPC, said that the wind power plant project at V1-1 location is built on an area of ​​about 1,200ha of water surface and the mainland, with 12 wind turbines with a capacity of 48 MW, the power supply is more than 180 million KW/hour.

The wind power plant project at V1-1 location also has other works such as the management building, the multi-function building, the transformer station, ... and will be built by Vestas - a Danish contractor.

The total investment capital of the project is over VND 2,400 billion (equivalent to USD 120 million), the main sponsors are Climate Investor One and Samtan Korea Company.

The wind power plant at location V1-1 is expected to complete in September 2020.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mr. Tran Anh Dung, Vice-Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tra Vinh province, said that the wind power plant at V1-1 location is a project to develop clean energy sources. The project maks an important contribution to the province socio-economic development. Therefore, the People’s Committee of Tra Vinh province commits to create all favorable conditions for investors to complete the project on time.

Vice-Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tra Vinh province requires that the investor during the construction process must ensure quality, environmental protection to comply with the regulation that not affect the working and daily life of local people.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quynh Thien, Deputy Director of the Economic Zone Authority of Tra Vinh province, up to now, Tra Vinh has granted the investment registration certificate for many wind power projects, such as the Duyen Hai Wind Power Plant Project - location V1- 4, capacity 48.3MW, investment capital VND 2,166 billion (equivalent to USD 108.3 million); Hiep Thanh wind power plant - location V1-5, V1-6, the capacity of 78MW, investment capital of VND 3,369 billion and Korea-Tra Vinh wind power plant, location V1-1 has been started.
